   20/11/2024 I'm not a politician or a political analyst; I'm an agriculturist managing various farming operations in Botswana and across several African countries. I want to express my gratitude to the new government of Botswana for refraining from immediately lifting the import ban on agricultural products like potatoes. However, this step alone is insufficient;  we need more decisive actions to empower Botswana to become self-sufficient in food production and to enhance our export capabilities. The coming year will be crucial in determining what the government has planned for the agricultural sector, particularly in revitalizing the currently nonexistent agro-processing industry.
