Farmer's Pride Executive President and Founder is currently on Rural And Urban Agriculture Innovative Production Program RUAIPP Implementation mission in Uganda and shall be meeting several farming communities from nebouring East Africa countries.

Rural and Urban Agriculture Innovative Production Program (RUAIPP), initiated by Farmer’s Pride International (FPI), is a multifaceted approach designed to foster sustainable agricultural development and economic growth in Africa. Let’s delve into the details:

1. Program Overview:

   • RUAIPP employs a community-centric approach, aiming to successfully implement agroecology, sustainable agricultural practices, and economic empowerment.
   • It involves youth and women in the agriculture value chain, offering training, capacity building, gender empowerment, technology integration, and value chain development skills.
   • The program focuses on globally demanded high-value crops such as potatoes, rice, wheat, sunflower, white sesame seeds, and Moringa.
   • Potatoes serve as the initial focus of the program.
   • RUAIPP aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1 to 8).

2. Why Agriculture?:

   • Agriculture is not just about crop production; it encompasses livestock raising, industrial forestry, fishing, and agricultural support services.
   • FPI recognizes the global reach of agriculture and conceives RUAIPP as a best practice initiative to enhance sustainability.

3. Importance of Agriculture and Farm Workers’ Welfare:

   • Agriculture sustains life by providing essential food.
   • Despite its significance, farmworkers are often among the lowest-paid workers globally.

4. FPI’s Commitment:

   • FPI champions RUAIPP, authored by Elfas Mcloud Zadzagomo Shangwa (Hunter), the incumbent Executive President and Founder of FPI.
   • The program aims to empower women, youth, enhance food security, and address climate change challenges across 45 African countries¹.
