REORGANISATION OF FARMER’S PRIDE INTERNATIONAL (FPI) – BOTSWANA OPERATIONS

Changes to  Enable Alignment to the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BETP)

1. Preamble

In alignment with our strategic mandate to drive large-scale, climate-smart agricultural transformation, Farmer’s Pride International (FPI), in collaboration with Hunter’s Global Network (HGN) and key partners, hereby issues this official notice regarding the reorganisation of its operational and leadership structures within Botswana.

This decision is informed by:

  • The increasing scale of our Agriculture-Based Clusters (ABCs)
  • The need for institutional efficiency and execution capacity
  • Our formal positioning under the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BETP)
  • The urgency to deliver measurable impact in food security, employment creation, export development, and climate resilience

2. Strategic Shift in Governance Structure

With immediate effect, Farmer’s Pride International Botswana shall transition from a Steering Committee-led model to a Permanent Operational Team Structure.

This transition reflects a deliberate move towards:

  • Full-time execution capacity
  • Professional accountability systems
  • Centralised coordination under the FPI Office
  • Direct alignment with national and international investment frameworks

3. Dissolution of Previous Structures

Accordingly, we hereby announce the following:

3.1 Dissolution

All previously constituted national structures operating outside the formal FPI Office framework are hereby dissolved with immediate effect.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • The National Coordinators Position
  • All informal or semi-formal regional coordination structures
  • Any independent leadership formations not formally embedded within FPI’s central operational system

3.2 Rationale

This action is necessary to:

  • Eliminate duplication of roles and inefficiencies
  • Strengthen governance and reporting lines
  • Ensure unified execution of the BETP-aligned agricultural agenda
  • Protect the integrity and scalability of FPI’s national projects

4. Establishment of a Permanent Operational Team

FPI Botswana shall now operate under a Permanent Professional Team, working directly with:

  • The Executive President
  • The Central FPI Office
  • Strategic partners including government, financial institutions, and development agencies

Core Mandate of the New Structure:

  • Implementation of Agriculture-Based Clusters (ABCs)
  • Coordination of Moringa and strategic crop value chains
  • Farmer mobilisation and training under RUAIPP (Rural and Urban Agriculture Innovative Production Program)
  • Development of export markets and aggregation systems
  • Integration of climate-smart agriculture technologies
  • Delivery of BETP project targets and national outcomes

5. Opening of the National Coordinator Position

In line with this restructuring:

The Position of National Coordinator is hereby officially declared OPEN.

5.1 Role of the National Coordinator

The successful candidate shall:

  • Work directly with the Executive President and senior leadership
  • Lead the coordination of national agricultural cluster activities
  • Support implementation of BETP-aligned projects
  • Ensure integration of farmers, investors, and institutional stakeholders
  • Drive operational excellence across all provinces and districts

5.2 Profile Required

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Strong leadership and coordination capacity
  • Proven experience in agriculture, development, or project management
  • Understanding of cluster-based agricultural systems
  • Ability to work within high-performance, results-driven environments
  • Commitment to national development, youth empowerment, and climate resilience

6. Strategic Direction Moving Forward

This reorganisation marks a critical transition towards:

  • Industrial-scale agriculture development
  • Institutionalised systems over personality-driven structures
  • High-impact project delivery under BETP
  • Scalable models for national and regional replication

Farmer’s Pride International remains committed to:

  • Sustainable Land Management
  • Agroecology and Regenerative Agriculture
  • Water Harvesting Systems
  • Renewable Energy Integration
  • Empowerment of Women and Young People in Agriculture
  • Advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

7. Closing Statement

We extend our appreciation to all individuals who have contributed under previous structures. Your efforts have laid the foundation upon which this new phase is being built.

This transition is not a step backward—it is a strategic elevation of the organisation to meet national and global expectations.

All stakeholders are encouraged to align with this new structure and continue supporting the vision of transforming Botswana’s agricultural sector into a globally competitive, climate-resilient, and economically empowering system.
